The West Bend’s Amenities

  • The West Bend’s closest library is Annette Public Library, built through the generosity of Andrew Carnegie and part of the wonderful Toronto Public Library system.
  • Baird Park is a popular playground and dog-walking spot, as well as home to the West Toronto Lawn Bowling Club. Chelsea Parkette is a small neighbourhood playground in the southern part of the West Bend. Dundas Parkette provides green space for residents in the Junction business district. Lithuania Park lies directly west and High Park, the jewel of Toronto’s park system, sits at the south-west corner of the West Bend.
  • Indian Road Crescent Junior Public School is in the heart of the West Bend. Its small size offers a great learning environment. Other larger elementary schools to the south and west are easily accessed.
  • High-school students have a wide choice of schools, including Humberside Collegiate, which started life in 1892 as the Toronto Junction High School.
  • The West Bend is home to two historic churches: St Martin-in-the Fields Anglican Church, dating from 1912; and Keele Street Christian Church, a community church, founded in 1889. Many other faith communities are within an easy distance.
